Already introduced at the exhibition at this year’s IPM Essen trade fair, Germany, David Austin’s new varieties Effie, Ella and Eugenie are now in production at Alexandra Farms to use in bridal and other luxury flower arrangements.

Available since spring 2019 many florists are very excited about the new roses.

Effie is a beautiful buttery yellow with a hint of apricot, super posh petals on each bloom. Ella is a stunningly shaped crisp white garden rose, a very round bloom which has a very long vase life.
And Eugenie is a super romantic, ruffled perfect blush garden rose. (Source: FlirtyFleurs)

David Austin died in December 2018. He will be remembered as one of the greatest rosarians and rose breeders of all time who is responsible for creating the world’s first horticultural brand. With over 240 varieties to his name, David Austin was still absolutely passionate about developing new varieties of English Roses until the very end. He died already knowing what the future may hold, having planned and undertaken the next crosses, which will hopefully create a new rose that will be introduced in nine years’ time.
